5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Spiced Poached Pears

Satisfy your sweet tooth with 5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Spiced Poached Pears. They make a fantastic dessert but you can also eat them as a healthy snack.

When I have friends or family over for dinner, I always struggle with the dessert portion of the meal. It’s easier to make healthy choices that don’t taste like diet food for dinner than it is for dessert! Most dessert recipes are full of fats from butter or heavy whipping cream, and many of them have way more sugar than I can handle. These Slow Cooker Spiced Poached Pears are an absolute lifesaver. Each serving has only 134 calories and very few added sugars, but this dish satisfies any sweet tooth!

The best part about Slow Cooker Spiced Poached Pears is that you can dress them up any way you like. Top them with nuts or berries for a healthy dessert, or go all-out with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, or a dollop of ice cream. No matter how you serve them, they taste delicious.

Slow Cooker Spiced Poached Pears

This recipe couldn’t be easier to make. In fact, there’s almost no prep involved at all! Just cut the pears in half, remove the cores, and place them in the slow cooker. Then, lightly chop a few dried cherries and add them to the Crock Pot along with the no-sugar-added cranberry juice, honey, and ground cinnamon. Set the slow cooker to low and dessert will be ready in about four hours!

When you’re ready to serve, be careful removing the Slow Cooker Spiced Poached Pears from the Crock Pot. There will be a lot of liquid in the bowl, and it will be very hot! We recommend using a slotted spoon, which makes it easier to remove the solid pears without spooning out a lot of the liquid.

This recipe is an ideal healthy dessert, but you can also eat it as a snack! We’ve also spooned the pears over our morning oatmeal, so don’t be afraid to think outside the box!
